where an inmate pleaded guilty today and he admitted to shooting a deputy and stabbing another. despite the injuries, master deputy charles embree and deputy thomas like were able to subdue phillips. both survived and phillips faces up to 30 more years in prison. and court hearings for the suspected serial stabber are delayed in michigan. a defense lawyer has waved his right to have a speedy hearing and is faying a murder charge. five men were killed and 9 more seriously injured in the series of stabbings and is expected in acts in virginia and ohio. flames destroyed three hopes and damaged four more. a day later, investigators don't know what sparked the fire in monasses. thify marshal believes that the flames began on the back deck of the home in tillett loop and spread quickly and is not sure why. >> reporter: investigators say

rain and we're excited about that and that is provided by the cutoff area of low pressure and we knew it might impact our forecast for sunday and that looks like right now, the rain will primarily find off until late sunday and into monday and tuesday and that will be a wet weekend for the south and speaking of the south, temperaturewise, first of all, we'll focus on the weekend, 87 tomorrow; 75 for sunday and how nice is that going to be. i wanted to mention quickly our tropical storm matthew made landfall today and that is in northeasternic inia wagra and is expected to -- nicaragua and is expected to bring torrential rain to north america and that will be inland a few days and there were some indications it might effect the southeastern united states and that is erratic. the long-term forecast unsure and hope it will dissipate. we're sad to see that it's going to create a lot of problems for central america the next few days and need to watch the caribbean. it's hot and that looks like
